To do Punch needle Craft, weaver or artist has to make use of a tool which is in form of hollow needle. This needle is used to punch loops of wool warn through holes in a cloth and create desired designs. The cloth used generally has a woven foundation and is called casement cloth. The designs are formed due to use of various coloured threads woven in a pattern, the outline of which can be drawn in advance on the cloth by the weaver or artist.
